Port Said is best known in football circles as the birthplace of Mohamed Zidan, but the city has produced 35 documented association football players in total. Other notable players include Ibrahim Adel, Abdelrahman Fawzy, Mohamed Shawky and Ahmed El Shenawy. Documented players span more than 100 years, from 1901 to 2001.
